Low-mood & Depression

What is the difference between Low-mood and Depression?

Low mood refers to a temporary state of feeling down or emotionally subdued, often in response to specific circumstances. Depression, on the other hand, is a more pervasive and persistent mental health condition characterised by a prolonged and intense sense of sadness, hopelessness, and a lack of interest or pleasure in activities.

What are the symptoms?

Low mood and depression can share some symptoms, but depression is generally more severe and persistent. Symptoms of low mood may include feelings of sadness, irritability, fatigue, and a temporary decrease in interest or pleasure in activities. On the other hand, depression may involve more intense and enduring symptoms, such as persistent sadness or emptiness, changes in sleep and appetite, feelings of worthlessness or guilt, difficulty concentrating, and thoughts of death or suicide. It's important to note that only a qualified healthcare professional can diagnose these conditions, and if your are experiencing symptoms, it's crucial to seek professional help for an accurate assessment and appropriate support.

How can Solution-Focused Hypnotherapy help overcoming persistent low-mood and symptoms of depression?

Solution-focused hypnotherapy can help you by focusing on positive outcomes rather than dwelling on problems.

Through talking therapy and hypnosis, I will guide you into finding clarity and transforming negative thought patterns to reduce stress, and promote a more positive mindset. Additionally, together, we may address underlying issues such as current stressors or past experiences.

Integrating CBT and Mindfulness with Solution-Focused Hypnotherapy.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is well-known for helping people identify and change negative thought patterns associated with low mood and anxiety, promoting healthier thinking and behaviours. Mindfulness techniques, incorporated into CBT or practiced independently, can help you enhance self-awareness. During our sessions, I will also provide tools and simple techniques to manage stress by staying present in the moment and cultivating a more balanced emotional response. Together, Hypnotherapy, CBT and mindfulness empower people to break the cycle of persistent low mood and anxiety, develop effective coping strategies, and find inner-peace.
